The fire resistance of the system is ensured by the appropriate thickness of the spray-applied material, depending on the section factor (U/A), required fire resistance class, and critical steel temperature.
The mcr Isoverm 825 set is intended for protecting steel elements with open profiles as well as circular and rectangular hollow sections.
Fireproofing insulation in the mcr Isoverm 825 system, where steel elements are protected with an anti-corrosion coating or zinc layer, can be used in environments corresponding to category X according to ETAG 018-3, i.e., indoor and outdoor conditions.
Thanks to its optimized density, the mcr Isoverm 825 system is perfectly suited for industrial and specialized facilities such as power plants, refineries, chemical plants, offshore platforms – wherever there is a risk of hydrocarbon fires – as well as for general construction uses exposed to standard fires.
For general construction applications at risk of standard fires indoors, we recommend the lightweight mcr Tecwool F spray-applied system. mcr Isoverm 825 provides steel structures with a section factor U/A = 453 m⁻¹ with fire resistance ratings from R15 to R360.
