  • Function and application
    PRIMELACK B is an anti-corrosive primer coating, part of the passive fire protection system for steel structures exposed to cellulosic fires – PROTELACK SFP. 
     It is intended for use when the ambient temperature is above 0ºC.

PRIMELACK B – two-component high-solid epoxy primer 

PRIMELACK B is a two-component epoxy coating designed for priming and/or intermediate use. 
 It contains zinc phosphate, is easy to process, fast-drying, and suitable for high-build applications.

Application guidelines

Surface preparation requirements before application:

  • The surface must be clean and dry, free from dust, grease, salts, and ice. 
  • It is recommended to apply the primer immediately after abrasive blasting to avoid flash rust. 

Features

The Protelack SFP system is a multi-layer coating system consisting of: 

 

  • anti-corrosive primer, 
  • intumescent fire protection coating, 
  • solvent-based topcoat. 

System characteristics: 

 

  • High fire resistance, suitable for both interior and exterior use. 
  • High-quality finish – topcoats available in RAL colors. 
  • Can be applied on previously primed elements with other epoxy primers without removal, reducing project costs. 
  • Provides fire protection of open steel profiles up to class R120 and closed profiles up to class R90. 
  • For external applications (X), the system must be protected with a polyurethane topcoat (Protefilm T) at a thickness of 120 μm. 
  • For internal applications (Z1), the system may be used without a topcoat – the white intumescent layer provides a clean interior finish.
